Baku: PREMA con entrambe le vetture in top-10, Boya firma il miglior risultato stagionale

Riassunto delle qualifiche a Baku

PREMA Racing ha piazzato entrambe le monoposto nella top-10 nelle due sessioni di qualifica a Baku. Mari Boya ha ottenuto il miglior risultato in qualifica della stagione chiudendo quarto in Q2, mentre Sebastián Montoya ha completato la Q2 in decima posizione. In Q1 Boya era sesto e Montoya settimo, posizioni che determineranno la griglia invertita per la Sprint Race di venerdì mattina.

• Mari Boya – Qualifying 1: 1:55.743 (P6). Qualifying 2: 1:54.365 (P4). Grid: Sprint P5, Feature Race 1 P6, Feature Race 2 P4.
• Sebastián Montoya – Qualifying 1: 1:55.838 (P7). Qualifying 2: 1:55.041 (P10). Grid: Sprint P4, Feature Race 1 P7, Feature Race 2 P10.

Cosa significa per le gare

La griglia invertita derivante da Qualifying 1 assegnerà le posizioni di partenza per la Sprint Race di venerdì: entrambi i piloti PREMA partiranno quindi da posizioni favorevoli, con l’opportunità di trasformare il ritmo mostrato in qualifica in punti già nelle prime gare del weekend. La Sprint Race è prevista alle 08:15 locali; la Feature Race 1 è programmata per le 14:15 locali.

“Good qualifying today, especially bouncing back after really difficult Free Practice. Q1 was a lot of fun, we were really on the limit. Q2 was a bit different, I had a massive lockup in starting my second push lap, so I had to abort it and change a set of tires

“I think we did a really good job maximising the scenario that we were in, in both sessions. The the car felt a lot better and I think we can do good stuff for tomorrow.

“Thank you to the team, the engineers, the mechanics for the hard work, and now we have three races ahead.”

#12 – MARI BOYA

“Super happy about the day, since Free Practice we were competitive. Baku is track that is really demanding on the brakes and things we’ve been struggling with all year, but today, I think we did a massive improvement in all these places.

“I’m happy about the team and all the work they are doing. There has been a lot of work behind the scenes that was super difficult to show, but now we are starting to look better.

“I’m excited to start the races closer to the front and let’s fight for everything.”
