Ha impresso subito la sua impronta, il messicano Gutierrez, che nelle libere di ieri è stato davanti a tutti per pochi millesimi. Col tempo di 1’53.547, il giovane pilota dell’ART ha infatti preceduto di un niente James Jakes, pilota di casa, che ha dovuto accontentarsi della seconda piazza.
Terzo tempo per Dean Smith, mentre si riconferma al top nonostante la poca esperienza su queste monoposto Adrian Quaife-Hobbs. Terza fila per Oakes e Melker, mentre il coriaceo olandese Van der Zande si riporta nella top ten. Chiudono la top ten Muller, Merhi e Morad. Fuori invece Christensen, Rossi, Coletti e Varhaug. Gli italiani si trovano rispettivamente in 22° posizione (Bortolotti) e 29° (Ghirelli). L’esordiente Juncadella ottiene un 18° posto come primo impatto con la GP3.
